Every once in a while I am forced to contemplate certain issues. Should it be the light green cotton/linen shirt with the black pants with a blue tie? Should DeLay and Cheney be sentenced to thirty years in prison, or be forced to sleep naked for three days next to a big black man with his name tattooed on his cock? Should the Singaporean Minister of Education be someone who has some working knowledge of what education is? Should she spit, or swallow? Stuff like that.
One such issue came to me recently: The upcoming hanging of Tulong Van Nguyen, an Australian salesman caught trafficking 400g of heroin through Singapore Changi airport from Cambodia to Australia. Singapore has a very tough judicial system and has one of the highest rates of execution in the world. This poor schmuck, Nguyen caught caught here trafficking heroin to Australia. Apparently those who planned his itinerary accidentally booked his stopover through Singapore as opposed to Thailand or something. Either that or they didn’t really give a shit. Chances are, it was the latter. Anyway, he got caught and as usual, got sentenced to death; Ho-hum, no big deal; Happens all the time in this little island as a matter of fact.
It turns out this guy’s brother got on the wrong side of the gangs in Australia and this idiot decided to bail him out by doing whatever it is that the gangland bosses wanted him to do, which in this case, happened to be getting heroin from Cambodia to Australia. Oh, it’s via Singapore, sorry we forgot to mention that. Predictably enough, he got caught easily and was sentenced to hang.
This raised a ruckus in the alternative media here in Singapore (nary a peep from the local newsletters) and interestingly enough, Australia. Why? Where was this same voice when so many hundreds of men went to that last walk at 6am on a Friday morning? Where was the outrage when so many stupid Indians, Thais, Chinese and Malays met their maker this way? Why is it that the Aussies only took note of this issue when an Australian faced the rope? Australian papers talked about how cruel it is to hang someone for drug trafficking, saying that it’s morally wrong. Oh yeah? Where was this outrage when Thais and Singaporeans died there? What, suddenly now Australian lives are more sacred than others? Even the bloody UN got involved in this. Why? Where was their voice when hundreds of men and women before Nguyen died? Why is it that when a citizen of a white country gets such preferential treatment even when he’s sentenced to hang, while those of brown and black countries don’t? (Please don't give me crap about Nguyen being Viet. You know what I mean).
Now I am strongly against the death penalty in most cases. I believe it doesn’t work (Indonesia, Malaysia all have death penalties for drug trafficking, and yet the trafficking there hasn’t gone down a bit). My personal belief is that the death penalty should only be used in the rarest of rare cases: Serial killing. This is simply a utilitarian issue. If a guy gets off killing other people for fun, I don’t want him in my neighbourhood ever. But in all other cases it’s simply cruel and unusual punishment that serves no purpose other than exacting a modicum of vengeance on the perpetrator of a heinous crime (“In Texas, if you kill someone, we’ll kill you back!” – Ron White) and certainly has no place in civic society.
Back to my original point, so where were all these voices of outrage which suddenly seemed to have cropped up now? Why should Nguyen be spared when others like Shanmugam Murugesu were not? Why do these people suddenly expect the law to play favourites? All these people who are screaming for Nguyen to be spared were all screaming for the blood of the Balinese terrorists who planned the bombing of the Sari Bar in Kuta, 2001. So much for consistency of belief. Where was their anti-death penalty stance then? These people claim to be completely against the death penalty unless confronted with some unsavoury character they don’t really like, in which case it is okay to hang the fuck. But when a citizen of your country has been sentenced to death, oh that’s oh so wrong! Death penalty is baaaaaaad! BAAAAAAAAAAD! Instead of insisting that this idiot be spared, shouldn’t they at every instance when a man had been executed for trafficking in drugs, protested? Shouldn’t they have imposed diplomatic handcuffs at the earliest opportunity, regardless of the nationality of the executed? Their current stance shows that they are nothing but hypocritical bastards.
I am not saying that Nguyen deserves to die. God knows he doesn’t. But the law cannot be applied willy nilly just because it happens to be one we don’t like or we happen to think is a nice one. Either there should be a constitutional moratorium on all future executions pending review of the penal code with a removal of the mandatory death sentence for crimes, or Nguyen should die jerking at the end of the rope, whether he deserves it or not. If the government is not willing to relook the death penalty issues at the fundamental level, it cannot be bending rules just because certain countries’ citizens are more “prized” than others. They all should hang.
One consolation about this whole thing: At least the poor idiot will die quickly. Hanging is probably one of the quickest methods of execution. The trapdoor opens, the body falls, the rope jerks the neck up, severing the spinal cord and death occurs pretty quickly.

Folks,
The rant on abused women received a shitstorm of attention. Let me clarify a few things here:
1> I thought I had made it pretty clear that I wasn't referring to ALL abused women. I mean I understand that there are some women who are in relationships they cannot get out of, or was hoodwinked into, or was forced into or has nowhere else to go to. I am not talking about those cases (although I don't have too much sympathy for them as well), so all you militant feminists get out of my hair please.
2> I am NOT condoning abuse, that was the whole purpose of the rant, that women should not accept it. They should leave or at the very least, as a (female) friend put it, get one swing in.
3> I do understand abuse. I mean, the word itself is fairly self explanatory.
4> I don't give a shit about Sylvia Plath apart from thinking that her poetry sucks. I just mentioned her because that's what my idiot coworker said.
In that rant I was referring to specific cases of women who get together with utter shitfucks and then start bitching that she spends more on fixing her nose than on food. I have absolutely nothing but contempt for such women and I am completely unapologetic about it. They deserve all they get, and the sooner they are wiped out of the genepool, the quicker will be our evolution to the next stage of being.
Let me give you a few examples of the kind of women I mean: TED BUNDY. This serial killer, ON DEATH ROW, was bombarded with marriage proposals WHILE IN JAIL WAITING TO DIE! What's funnier is all those that Ted Bundy killed were women. What's funnier still is he actually got married once in the middle of a TRIAL.
These women weren't pscyhos either. They were for the most part normal young/middle aged women! I mean, why should I sympathise with women who WANT to marry a bloody serial killer who killed at least thirty six other women?! Would I feel sorry for them if they got killed? No. Would I chuckle in contempt? Most certainly.
Here I am trying to be a nice guy and everything and this guy, who had killed THIRTY SIX women, all of them brutally (and collected their heads as trophies), receives wedding proposals and gets married while waiting for trial! I mean that is really taking the "cute butt" thing too far!
Another example: This guy in California, has AIDS. Does some crime and goes to jail. His wife KNOWS he has AIDS, been sleeping around etc. What does she sue the state for? Conjugal visits. I mean what the hell? Here is her man, who is a criminal, has obviously been sleeping around, has AIDS and is IN jail and this woman wants to have sex with him IN fucking jail. Am I the only one who sees the problem with this?
Another case: This guy Scott Peterson, in jail for murdering his wife Laci, receives passionate love letters from women who want him to fill their wombs with his filthy seed. Would I be surprised if there was a double murder? No. Would I be sorry for the woman? No again.
I was referring to women who knowingly enter into relationships with "bad boys" and then bitch to the world in general about every broken cheekbone or busted nose while at the same time refusing to leave the idiot. I mean, what the hell is wrong with them?!
NOW to clear the air, my stand on abused women in general:
I find it disturbing that women actually put up with abusive men. A woman gets her ass beaten left and right, the cops show up and throw the guy in jail, and he comes back out and she takes him back! What gives?! I mean that is simply asking for another asswhupping. I mean the guy is a convicted wife beater and yet the woman puts up with him! What for?! Some unattainable ideal of womanhood?
Okay I'll give her the first swing for the "I didn't know he was abusive" excuse, and the second swing for "He told me he really changed in jail" excuse but on the third count, arrest her along with him. Throw her in a home because she certainly is not fit to walk about unsupervised. Before I go on, Please save your keyboard some wear and tear by not telling me about women who have nowhere to go, women who truly are dependent etc. I am not talking about those women. I am speaking of women who have options and who should have known better. Educated women who can find a job and support two kids by themselves should not put up with crap like this and should leave or throw the bum out. By not leaving they are implicitly agreeing that abuse is okay.
Worse still if they have kids, the environment that the kid grows up in should be enough to screw their minds up for ever. Why should I have any sympathy for women who condone child abuse and by complicity encourage it? And it is child abuse, whether physical or psychological when a man comes home soused as a herring and proceeds to beat the shit out of the wife. If a woman takes an abusive man back, she deserves to go to jail with him the next time he abuses her. Throw him in for assault and battery, and throw her in for aiding and abetting child abuse because she certainly is too screwed in the head to raise the kids properly.

For a while I am going to revert to bitchslapping rant mode. So for those who can't take vulgarities, you'll have to check back in about a few weeks.
Anorexia - Cure? Let 'em starve to death

They call her "Ana." She is a role model to some, a goddess to others — Ana is short for anorexia, and, to the alarm of experts — many who suffer from the potentially fatal eating disorder are part of an underground movement that promotes self-starvation and, in some cases, has an almost cult-like appeal.
Followers include young women and teens who wear red Ana bracelets and offer one another encouraging words of "thinspiration" on Web pages and blogs.
Till now I thought religious fundies are the worst kind. But I just came across a group that just might be a serious contender to "Shitfuck fundy of the generation". I am referring of course to cult groups like this. Again I am not specifically targeting ALL anorexia “sufferers” here (although I take potshots at them as well) but those who have turned it into something good, something to aim for. This is targeted towards teens who think it’s good to look like a sheet of paper.
I will never understand the minds of these people. I am talking about the psychiatrists and parents and whatnot, not the girls, who have brains the size of shrivelled chickpeas. Why save these girls? Why not encourage their cult to recruit more superficial, peroxided bimbotic peptobismol pink bitches? Let these fucks starve to death, cleansing our gene pool of another gene that could lead to our extinction?
These stupid bitches lead such shallow lives, following the example of dumbfuck celebrity figures like MAry Kate-Olsen and Paris Hilton, the kind any REAL man would drive a fucking jack hammer through their skank-ass pussies. I wonder what is it about being thin. Fuck, I am a fairly normal guy as far as sexual preferences go, and I like my girls opaque, not translucent. Visible bones are a distinct turn off as far as I am concerned and I think I speak for most guys when I say that I like girls with a bit of meat on 'em. Imagine fucking a skeleton!
One of them, when Olsen went into therapy to look less like something dug up from a grave, said this: "Put on your Ana bracelet and raise your skinny fist in solidarity!"
The article is silent about what happened once she put on the bracelet, which weighed half her body weight. I wonder how she managed to raise a fist with a fucking bracelet on it, or for that matter how she managed to raise a fist at all!
The article goes on to say:

To hell with abused women.
Folks,
Those who know me would know that I never sympathise with women who are in abusive relationships. As far as I am concerned, they deserve all they get.
Of course I am speaking of women who choose to be in abusive relationships, who despite the fact that their spouses/boyfriends treat them like dirt, continue to remain in the relationship for whatever reason. I don't include in this list women who are in it by coercion, women who are in it due to blackmail (even these I wonder why doesn't she just go to the cops), etc. I am speaking specifically of girls who "like bad boys" and then cry buckets over a busted lip.
They deserve every black eye and every broken nose. Why? Because they choose to remain with the guy. ANYONE who chooses to remain with a beater deserves all that is coming to her.
Women who choose the bad guy over the good deserve to have their skulls split open. I mean, why not? She had the choice, she made it. No one forced her to be with El Skull Busto with the "I DATE MY SISTER" tattoo. She chose it of her own free will. Surely she deserves whatever she gets. Why are there support groups for such people?!
I mean there's the saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". This holds very true for domestic abuse. It should say "beat my ass once, shame on you. Fine, the first time the bitch didn't know that the "bad guy" image was not really an image so she gets the first swing for free but the next time he hits her ass, what is she still doing in the relationship? Any woman with a kid who suffers abuse and remains with the guy deserves to go to jail because not only is she implicitly agreeing that abuse is okay, but she is also endangering the life of the kid. Also, that is no environment to bring up a kid in. Imagine the message that is sent to the kid?! That men are always superior? That violence is okay as long as you get what you want?! That straight punches to the nose produce the most blood? I mean, if you're talking of real gender equality, shouldn't a woman who lets herself and children be beaten by a man who goes to jail for beating his wife and kids, deserve to go to jail as well?
This coworker was eulogizing this poet, Sylvia Plath, who committed suicide because of an alleged abused relationship (I thought she blew her head off because she was just depressed but hey, I don't give a crap). Now I don't give a rat's ass about the relationship itself. But if she was abused why the hell didn't she leave? If she didn't leave, didn't she agree to the asswhupping she got? If it drove her to suicide, well too bad. She probably should have seen it coming a long ago. Women claim they love to be with men who are "bad", well babe, if that's what you like you better be prepared for an asswhupping because if you get that, don't come crying for sympathy. Let's Hunt and Kill Russell Peters
I have been a standup comedy fan since god-knows-when. From Woody Allen to Dave Chappelle I have heard them all and Russell Peters has to be THE most hackneyed, unimaginative and uninspired standups I have ever heard.
I mean come on! Why is this guy so popular? Simply because he has a different take on the race card, that time tested crowd pleaser pioneered by the likes of Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx. I mean, it's the same shit, different niggers.
Whatever happened to social satire? What happened to real funny stuff? It seems only George Carlin is left and he's pushing 80. The rest are either dead or their shows usurped by people who laugh at how bad airline food is or why men leave the toilet seat up (or is it down? Who gives a shit?!).
