Folks,
This domain name, www.evilatheist.com is up for renewal. Now I don't mind renewing it for another year but I should know if it is worth it.
As of today, for the past one year I have got exactly 7219 unique hits. That works out to about 20 a day. My numbers haven't changed much over time and I can see that no new person is reading this shit.
Now by most standards that is rather pathetic coverage as far as quantity is concerned, and a quick scan through the shithoses who give me statistics tell me that a large portion of my hits come from guys who just wander in by accident.
If I do not take down my site I need to be able to attract a wider audience. Having said that, I refuse to do the following.
1> Write about what the fuck I do everyday. If you want to know, call me and ask.
2> Add links to my site and beg/plead with some ignorant hayseeds out there to link my page to their putrid efforts in order to attract completely apathetic, ignorant fuckblintzes with attention spans of deceased livestock.
3> Add frivolities like tagboards and meaningless wallpaper and grey on white text. If you don't like vanilla, too bad.
4> Post meaningless shit that would end up with me having to nominate myself for a Shitblog Award.
So those who read this regularly, get the hamster in your brain wheels to start running. Who knows? One of you might actually come up with an original thought that might move you that one step closer to being welcomed into the human race.
Give me ideas on topics I could rant about. My site is at crossroads and I am ranting pretty much about everything from teenage bloggers to the size of LKY's tiny, shrivelled penis. Should I diversify into new topics or restrict my focus? Let me know.
When I say I want to attract more readers, I mean readers of the quality of those who read me regularly, not the "so dumb I get my dick caught in my zipper three times out of four tries" reader. Biting commentary? Unbiased reporting? Sex with braindead gerbils? What does it take? Let me know.
Of course you can just ask me to shut the whole thing and I'll save a bit of money.

Folks, this is my 50th post.
Lee Kuan Yew, former Prime Minister of Singapore had this to say of India in the 1980's. "It was sad to see the gradual rundown of the country," he once wrote.
I found this quote amusing, because here is a tinpot little dictator, telling one of the world's largest democracies, a democracy which has withstood four wars, a democracy that truly believes in the separation of powers and a system of checks and balances, a country with a thriving free press, a country with consitutionally enshrined rights to freedom of speech, expression and political opinion that it's running down.
Singapore's population: 4.2 million.
Number of members in Parliament: 84
Size of country: 600sqkm
India's population: 1 billion.
Number of members in Parliament 545.
Size of Country: 3,287,600sqkm (In relative terms, Singapore's area is a rounding error in India's landscape)
And somehow LKY felt confident enough to comment that "India was gradually running down".
This is the same man who threatened a merger with Malaysia on Malaysia's terms in case Singapore "fails". And he is telling the world that a country of 1 billion people with an established government that is run by the people is "running down". You don't see a roadside food vendor giving advice to Bill Gates, do you? Exactly.
This is the same man who gets a minor stroke everytime someone dares to suggest that his government made a mistake. A leader who is that paranoid has no right commenting on things he knows little about.
If he ran Singapore so well, why is it that unless he or his party is in power, parts of Singapore will become slums, as he alleges?
India has had a history of over 10,000 years. Singapore on the other hand has only a measurable history of about 200 years (and of that only 40 as an independent nation), and yet this man thinks that a country that is 10,000 years old is gradually unwinding into chaos. He goes on to start singing his own praises on how prescient he was when he talked to some Indian think-tanks in the 70's. Let me clue him in.
Dear MM: Dude, stick to what you know. You are good at micromanaging tiny island states. Stop trying to predict global trends. Stick to your day job. For the record, Singapore's past is a mere blip in the time scale of Indian history. What it has achieved in 30 years is indeed commendable but stick to what you know and stop commenting on things you haven't a clue about. You sound like a kid, who having passed his Primary 1 Examination sees it fit to comment on his uncle who is having some problems with his PhD thesis on writing strategies.
I am sorry if I sound Indo-chauvinistic but I found that quote highly misguided, even in the 80's Indian experiment with socialism (which incidentally enabled India to develop a welfare system before implementing the Free Market policies of the 90's). Listening to Lee the Father today, one is tempted to think he has always been a prescient, forward looking leader but shows himself up time and again to be a hindsight laden, pseudo-intellectual simplistic little bully.
But those who follow history would know that this is just one example of how Lee the Father has always been going around giving advice to people who don't care if he lives or dies.
His advice German workers: If your workers were rational they would say, yes, this is going to happen anyway (jobs going to China), let's do the necessary things in one go. Instead of one month at the spa, take one week at the spa, work harder and longer for the same pay, compete with the East Europeans, invent in new technology, put more money into your R&D, keep ahead of the Chinese and the Indians (the stance on India seems to have taken an about face).
In other words, quit bitching and demanding rights you lazy layabout! You have the right to work and nothing else. Shut up.
Not content, he starts speaking about the US President Idiot George W Bush. For someone who is supposed to be a brilliant thinker and politician LKY sure does admire some of the weirdest people. President Dubya's plan for social security was such an absolute disaster that even a republican Congress didn't dare tamper with it. Guess who is one of the biggest cheerleaders for that idea?
President George W. Bush is trying to have a privatized segment of the Social Security so it's yours; you can direct how it is invested. We've had that much longer than what you're trying to do.
Dude, not only are you giving Singapore's ridiculous CPF system unnecessary publicity you are also really oversimplifying the issue there. What does Bubba the Truck driver know about investing? It is simply a way to get billions of dollars into the hands of the corporate rich.
He can't stop singing Dubya's praises. Another quote from Time Magazine:
Look at the President when he announced that he had ordered an attack on Baghdad. I never saw a man more composed—[he] spoke briefly into the microphone and walked away straight-backed, not a doubt in his mind. I thought to myself, that's not a bad commander.
All together now... HAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Imagine that, a "political genius" falling for the posturing pseudo-machismo of a draft dodging coke-snorter who blew up frogs as a kid. Did he catch a glimpse of the My Pet Goat Fiasco of September 11? Or did he catch the part where his top lieutenants were advising him on how bad Katrina would be and he didn't do jack apart from looking like he just shit himself?
The interviewer then asks him about turmoil and contention. His reply: You must have contention, a clash of ideas. If Galileo had not challenged the Pope, we would still believe the world is flat, right? And Christopher Columbus might never have discovered America.
1> We would still have eventually discovered the roundness of the world. Galileo did not challenge the pope on the roundness of the world. He challenged the Ptolemaic idea that the earth was the stationary centre of the universe. Get your facts right.
2> Christopher columbus' discovery of the West Indies (NOT continental United States, which was discovered later by Amerigo Vespucci, giving America its name) didn't quite vindicate the earth's roundness. Columbus was supposed to have sailed round the world and then reached India but he only managed to get as far as the West Indies. It was Magellan who circumnavigated the globe.
So MM Lee, why is it then that you incarcerate those who disagree with you, behave like a schoolyard bully every election in the name of preserving whatever integrity you seem to possess? you can talk tough (lot like George Bush's immortal "Bring 'em on!" Statement), but when confronted you hide behind your teams of legal protectors and your kangaroo courts. Is this what you mean by "clash of ideas"? It sounds like Henry Ford's "any colour as long as it's black" argument. Any idea as long as it's yours?

It's just not fucking fair! Boo fucking hoo.
Folks,
Don't worry. I haven't suddenly seen the light nor was I threatened with a lawsuit by Lee the Father (although in some ways that would be pretty fuckin' awesome. I can then finally test the results of severe post traumatic rectal bleeding on myself).
Anyway, I wanted to take a break from this website and I wanted to see if some of you semi-literate mental midgets can survive without me having to fill your vacuous life with information you are too stupid to source out. (Kidding. You folks are the reason I breathe and eat). But along came the general elections in Singapore and with that, the usual ragtag bunch of politicians and political supporters, false promises, mandatory opposition lawsuit, Lee the Father rumoured to have appeared at rallies addressing thousands of people and even a giant, ethereal PVC hammer of the Workers' Party going round hitting all in its path. How can I stay away from such a fun-filled gang-bang?
At the end of it all it was still the PAP that won, and with a resounding 67% mandate, or as I would like to say "I told you so".
My personal view is, the PAP is the only party which deserves to rule Singapore. Now before you get your panties in a bunch, shut up and pay attention and I'll tell you why.
Firstly, in even sham democracies, people get the governments they deserve. The fact that despite all the alleged bad performance of the PAP in the last five years, the mandate was still a resounding one, showing that the people still want them in. For that reason alone, the people deserve them. Having said that, I would like to say this to Singaporeans: Quit bitching. The next time fares of transport, GST, healthcare, and commodities go up, remember, you voted these in, so you deserve them. You sold your future for a "Progress Package" so shut the fuck up and bear it. You sold your future, your principles, your democracy and your vote for 50c a day. Serves you right and I for one am going to laugh at your expense if I ever find out that you voted for these idiots. Now for those in walkover wards, this includes all of you schmucks as well. Like it or not you are guilty by association as the MP or the group of MPs represent you. You have approved his/her representation as your MP by simply not making another candidate stand against him/her. Serves you right too. Quit bitching.
Need another reason why the PAP deserve to rule Singapore? Well, then look at who is controlling the GIC (LKY), all the GLC's (Ho Ching), all the major banks, HDB (Dr Aline Wong, James Koh), and even the Monetary Authority of Singapore (Goh Chok Tong and Tharman) which prints all those crisp new $50 bills that you withdrew last week from the "Progress Package". That's right: PAP men. If an opposition government takes hold, how long would it take for these people to temporarily shut down the country every once a while, blaming the government for it? Sure it's dirty politics. Sure, it's bullying. But whoever expects a clean game in politics is a fucking idiot. Singaporeans, by your apathy you have allowed this to happen and have let the PAP become pervasive in all parts of government, including the different non ministerial agencies. Why should they then blame the PAP for using this to their political advantage? They were right. Your houses will become slums, your vast reserves would inexplicably disappear and you go back crawling on your knees to them. I say, serves you right for not paying attention.
This brings me to yet another reason why PAP deserve to win. Democracy is not a spectator sport. Singaporeans have shown that they don't want democracy by being completely apathetical and resigned to the fact that the PAP wins everytime, without accepting any of the blame associated with it. When confronted with the "You voted them" argument they start spouting bullshit like "oh we didn't have a choice", or "they can track us down, rape our daughters, burn down our hovel, kill the dog and eat grandma for lunch!", or "I work for the government. I am not going to bite the hand that feeds me". Responses like this point to a populace that is shit scared of change. This is a people who don't WANT something different. They are afraid, not so much of the PAP as of change. They use silly excuses like this to maintain the status quo for themselves, even if it is a boxcar ride to the poor house. This fear is a self created fear and is almost as contemptible as apathy. Serves them right, and I hope someone does all the above to them, just out of spite.
The point about apathy brings me to a related point; ignorance. The most common excuse I hear is, "Oh I did not know anything about the opposition candidates because the media is one sided". A calm, gentle reminder to Singaporeans: You fucking dickwad morons! Of course the media is one sided. Did you really expect them to give a fair coverage of the issues and opponents? You have the internet, you have alternative sources of information and yet you chose, out of your own free will to not find out more. You were to busy watching Singapore fucking Idol or some insipid reality show to actually bother finding out who the fuck is going to represent you in parliament. Wilful ignorance must be punished by tyranny. Serves you right.
So my message to Singaporeans is, no one deserves to rule Singapore but the PAP. Quit whining and shut up. Also remember, in democracies there is no one "ruling". The very fact that you didn't notice the word "rule" as opposed to "govern" shows how tolerant you have become to totalitarian rule. Serves you right again.
